More than 70 artists will open their studios and offer insights into their creative work.
Experience artworks ranging from painting, sculpture, and photography to street art and interactive art.
Guided tours invite you on a journey of artistic discovery.
On Friday and Saturday, live bands performing inside the studios will turn the Open Studios into a feast for all the senses.

Marienkirche in Waakirchen-Marienstein

In October, the month of the Rosary, we remember Mary in a special way through praying the Rosary. The lay liturgy leaders of the parish association Waakirchen-Schaftlach invite you to the exhibition “Mary – A Woman.” The works are by regional artists: Kathrin André, Zhao Bin, Ursula-Maren Fitz, Uwe Göbel, Zhenya Li, and Ekaterina Zacharova.

Opening of the exhibition with music by the Tegernsee choir “Sunshine Gospels.” Father Stefan Fischbacher will bless us. The Kolping Family Waakirchen-Schaftlach invites you to drinks and snacks.

On Saturdays, October 4, 11, 18, and 25, the exhibition will be open from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. before the vigil Mass in Marienstein.

In 1949, four artists — Thomas Baumgartner, Herbert Beck, Olaf Gulbransson, and Ilse Hausner-Witschel — founded the first exhibition. Since then, the Tegernsee Art Exhibition has taken place annually, serving not only as an important forum for artists but also as an established part of the Tegernsee Week – Culture and Traditions in the Tegernsee Valley (September 25 – October 5, 2025), and as a permanent fixture of cultural life in the Tegernsee Valley.

Since then, numerous contemporary artists from the valley have presented their latest and most impressive works.

“We want to make the diverse art scene here in the valley and its wider surroundings visible!”

Artists present their newest works in the fields of painting, graphic art, photography, and sculpture. Visitors can expect artistic creativity, imaginative ideas, and professional craftsmanship throughout the exhibition. Beyond the exhibition halls in the Old Switching House (Altes Schalthaus), sculptures can also be seen in the town, for example in the spa gardens (Kurgarten) or at the Länd.

Opening of the exhibition / Vernissage: Friday, September 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., conducted by the First Mayor of the City of Tegernsee.

1949 haben die vier Künstler Thomas Baumgartner, Herbert Beck, Olaf Gulbransson und Ilse Hausner-Witschel die erste Ausstellung gegründet.
Seit diesem Jahr findet jährlich die Tegernseer Kunstausstellung statt, die nicht nur ein bedeutendes Forum für die Künstler, sondern auch ein etablierter Bestandteil der Tegernseer Woche – Kultur und Brauchtum im Tegernseer Tal (26.9. - 6.10.2024) und ein fester Bestand des kulturellen Lebens im Tegernseer Tal ist.

Künstlerinnen und Künstler zeigen ihre neuesten Arbeiten aus den Bereichen Malerei, Grafik, Fotografie und Skulptur. Bildnerische Kreativität, Ideenreichtum und hanfwerkliche Professionalität erwartet Sie in der Ausstellung. Aber auch außerhalb der Ausstellungsräume im Alten Schalthaus sind im Stadtbereich Skulpturen zu sehen, wie z.B. im Kurgarten oder an der Länd.

Die Akademie öffnet wieder ihre Türen - es ist Jahresausstellung! Der Altbau öffnet sich mit seinen Ateliers und Werkstätten wie auch der Garten, um Raum zu geben für die alljährlich stattfindende große Ausstellung. Studierende aller Semester und Studiengänge zeigen aktuelle Arbeiten und Experimente aus den Bereichen Malerei, Skulptur, Installation, Performance, Fotografie, Video, Schmuck und Gerät, Bühnenbild, Sound, Architektur und Innenarchitektur.
Kommen Sie vor Ort direkt ins Gespräch mit den Studierenden, wenn Sie Interesse haben an den künstlerischen Ideen oder den Hintergründen des Herstellungsprozesses einzelner Arbeiten.

It's the time again: for the 31st time, around 100 works by students of the Academy and works donated by their professors will be auctioned at starting prices from 100 euros.

The annual auction is an important event, especially for the students, to be seen and to present their works and to get feedback from the public - we want to implement all this with your support and look forward to seeing you at the Academy in autumn.

As before, 50% of the proceeds from the auction go directly to the artists. With the other 50%, the academy association specifically finances prizes, projects and scholarships for the students at the art academy. More than ever, the auction and the proceeds are a signal: for art, for the academy and above all for the students.

The Academy opens its doors again - it's the annual exhibition! After two years of the pandemic, studios and workshops, the foyers and many other rooms in both buildings, as well as the garden, are being transformed into a large exhibition. Students of all semesters show current work and experiments. They were able to work at the academy again and take part in seminars and lectures on site. Also this year, around 20 graduates who have postponed their exam date due to the corona-related flexi semester are showing their work in summer.

Admission free.

"Back to the future" is the motto of the 2022 annual exhibition, because on the one hand the MKG is returning to its historical roots and on the other hand the first hybrid exhibition in the history of the MKG is taking place this year. Directly after the presence exhibition in the Künstlerhaus, this year's exhibition will be moving to MKG's own online portal for another three months, with which MKG is once again taking an important step towards the future.

Vor einem Jahr wäre einem zum Stichwort Maske ganz sicher etwas Anderes eingefallen als ein Hygieneartikel. Vom Karneval und Brauchtum in der weiten Welt, übers Theater, bis zur Schand- oder Totenmaske. Immer gab es Gründe Mimik durch Maske zu ersetzen, Gesichter zu verhüllen, aber auch sie in Szene zu setzen.

Das Kulturzentrum Trudering hat zu diesem Thema die Kunstausstellung „Magie der Masken“ ins Leben gerufen. Passend zur Faschingszeit werden die Bilder und Skulpturen ab 26. Januar ausgestellt.

Die Ausstellung ist von Montag bis Samstag von 10 – 20 Uhr zu besichtigen.

Bitte Halten Sie abstand und tragen Sie eine Mund-Nasen-Bedeckung im Haus.
